Safe Family Fun

Safe family fun allows you and your kids to have quality time together

Safe family fun is important. Being secure emotionally is just as necessary as being safe physically and one of the ways to do that is to be able to take part in activities that promotes laughter and togetherness. Laughter bonds better than anything and its affects will ripple throughout your life for days.

Children, whether they are 8 days old or 18 years old need a constant diet of emotional security. In fact, it is frightening just how confused your child becomes, the older he or she gets, and which far too often ends with a teen suicide.

Your child needs a secure haven at home. The one place where he or she knows that they can relax, talk, laugh, be silly, have fun (and squabble amongst themselves sometimes) without fear.

It is essential to spend quality time together as a family unit each week. Many parents work full-time jobs and it's difficult to fit in time for relaxation and leisure. This is not impossible to do and it's very important that you make time for your family. Take turns among members of the family deciding what to do together. Try to pick activities that encourage both talking and interaction.

Where the above is concerned, you can consider, hiking, cycling, camping, ten-pin bowling, board and card games, charades, play and discuss music through the ages, cook marshmallows over a fire, lie on your backs in the garden and discuss the sun, moon and stars. These are just a few ideas and one idea often leads to another.

As much as the family needs to interact together, each individual also needs time apart doing something that holds particular interest.

This is where individual hobbies and sports come in. Don’t forget to pay attention to and encourage the hobby of each family member. Be careful however that you do not become intrusive.
